First sorry for my bad English. I successfully installed build 3.6 (not tried 3.7 yet) and also kde 4. However, there are still problems with dependencies (task kde4). I managed to install  packagekit and kpackagekit and it is works Smiley Here are the proofs http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1503/kde4.jpg, http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8176/kde5.jpg  http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/3623/kde6.jpg I can send rpm and src.rpm if you want

I have downloaded release 3.7 and have played around with the live cd. Have not had any problems with hardware, as it picked up all items. Now how do I install it?? Smiley

You are forgiven. Will there be more nividia drivers added soon? I have a GeForce 4 Mx 440 card.
By the way 3.7 is nice.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it even in its unfinished stage.

Nvidia-current (185x) is in the repo but the others have not been processed yet.  Those should happen very soon now.

Btw, we added a section called "gnome".  You'll have to add it to the ibiblio channel.

Hi gettinther .

I have one small suggestion on that meter that will make things easy-I hope Wink

Have A look on that script,it will take care of the cards.
from my post to the U.E site.

Download & install the 2.6.29.4 kernel, based on your architecture:

for i386 user:

Code:
wget -c http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... 4_i386.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... 04_all.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... 4_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.29-02062904-generic_2.6.29-02062904_i386.deb linux-headers-2.6.29-02062904_2.6.29-02062904_all.deb linux-image-2.6.29-02062904-generic_2.6.29-02062904_i386.deb

for amd64 user:

Code:
wget -c http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... _amd64.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... 04_all.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma ... _amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.29-02062904-generic_2.6.29-02062904_amd64.deb linux-headers-2.6.29-02062904_2.6.29-02062904_all.deb linux-image-2.6.29-02062904-generic_2.6.29-02062904_amd64.deb

You’re finished. Now you need to reboot your computer.

You're installing deb packages on a rpm system?  I'm not sure I'm getting what you want to achieve.  Those are not compatible.  Also we already have all the versions of the 2.6.29.5 kernel including real time kernel which is newer than the one you mention here. I've added the ndiswrapper module by default on the kernels so this should fix the ndiswrapper errors we were getting.

gettinther .
The kernel that you have install on the system- just fine with me.
The Q was the Nvidia drivers that have been take care on the same time.
By the way,On the U.E you can compile the packages to bout side.
And I have mention it for some more help to the crow.
just my suggestion.

Ok, we need to be careful here.

We use the drakxtools from Mandriva.  As such it controls the way the graphic adapters are detected and handled. To operate with the proprietary drivers, it needs elements that are only available from the custom version supplied in the repo.

In order to get those to work properly in our system, there are several symlinks to be adjusted if you want to retain the control panel capabilities. Using the drivers from ati.com and nvidia.com will work fine but it will break support in the Control panel. It will work but you will loose the ability to adjust your screen via the control panel and will have to make changes directly in xorg.conf.

Also there has been issues in the past with people trying to revert to the repo drivers from the official drivers from nvidia and ati sites.  So you need to have enough knowledge to redirect the symlinks and reset XFdrake.
